AFRICAN SUPER LEAGUE WILL START SOON- CAF PRESIDENT, PATRICE MOTSEPE
The European Super League was launched a few months ago which brought about several uproars in the European Football Arena.
Clubs including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Chelsea, Manchester United etc were set to participate in this competition.
The disdain from UEFA led to some participant clubs exiting from the proposed competition with an aftermath sanctions given to the participant clubs.
However, the President of CAF, Patrice Motsepe has surprisingly hinted the launch of the African Super League.
He explained that ;
“We are assessing and in preliminary discussions to start an inclusive and broadly supported and beneficial CAF African Super League”
The CAF President is yet to detail the clubs that would be called upon to honor this competition as well the criteria to choose the clubs and the format that would be used to play the competition.
Motsepe, alluded that,
“We’ve been following the attempts by some top European clubs to form a Euro Super League and will learn from their experience and pitfalls.”
