"SUPER LEAGUE" SHAKES THE CORE OF FOOTBALL UNITY | FACES OPPOSITION FROM FIFA
A European "Super League" is becoming a reality as top clubs sign-in amidst fierce opposition from FIFA and many governing bodies.
The "Big 6" teams from England have agreed to join the new "Super League".
Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham have agreed to join the European Super League (ESL).
Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Barcelona and Juventus will join their English counterparts.
ELS says that the new League will be held "mid-week" with teams continuing to "compete in their respective national leagues"
Condemnation of the new European Super League has been fierce from FIFA, UEFA, Fans, Borris Johnson and the Premier League.
FIFA was very clear that it would not recognise such a competition and players involved in this could be denied playing the World Cup.
UEFA also was adamant that any player involved will be banned from all competitions at domestic, European and world level.
All this came from talks with financial giant JP Morgan and a $4.6 billion over replacing the Champions League.
