The Maghreb Champions Cup, was a football club competition in South Africa, which was played from 1970 to 1976 only seven times. Were eligible to participate, the respective champions of that Maghreb countries of Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya as well as the defending champion. However, Libya participated only in the first held in 1970. Played with one exception from the semi-finals in pure knockout system in each case only one game within a few days at one venue. 1970/71 played only three teams in a league round with round-trip game from the winner. Frequently, this competition is referred to or regarded as successor to the North African Football Championship.
