It has emerged that 26-year-old (27 next January) Udinese centre-back Rodrigo Becão is on Fabio Paratici's radar.
The Italian side value their right-footed defender at €20m.
I have long said we should be buying defenders from Italy, a country that believes stopping a goal is as high profile as scoring a goal.
Alessandro Bastoni
Repubblica in its online edition informs us that that Inter and Turin are €10m apart in their negotiations for Gleison Bremer, the centre-back they are trying to secure to replace Alessandro Bastoni before they sell him to us for €60m.
Turin are asking €35m as their 'reasonable' fee while Inter are trying to get him for €25m.
Let's hope they hurry up and reach an agreement after meeting again over the weekend, then we can get Bastoni completed quickly.
Nico González
Spurs have made initial enquiries about 20-year-old (21 next January) Barcelona central-midfielder Nico González.
A report suggest we would be willing to pay a fee in the region of €25m for González, but the word from Spain is that he is only interested in a loan move to get playing time.
Barcelona want to buy Ruben Neves from Wolves and offered three players, none of whom Wolves want, they have asked for González to reduce the €50m they have placed on Neves.
There is speculation that he has three options to stay in Spain, which certainly looks the favourite.
- Valencia, under new manager Gennaro Gattuso to replace Carlos Soler
- Real Betis to replace either William Carvalho or Guido Rodriguez, who are likely to be sold to balance the books
- Real Sociedad who need depth to a squad competing in three competitions next season
